D e r m o s c o p e a

At Dermoscopea, we believe dermoscopy should not be limited to those who can afford it. Traditional dermatoscopes and their accessories come with a high price tag, but we know gaining proficiency in their use empowers both non-specialists and specialists alike. With the right knowledge, you can confidently assess lesions and enhance your diagnostic capabilities, making a huge difference to patients around the world.

Our mission is to provide non-dermatologists, medical students, resident doctors and other healthcare professionals with the tools to make affordable, easy-to-build DIY dermatoscopes, and provide education to simplify the interpretation of dermoscopy.

How are we achieving this?

Education

We aim to bridge the gap in skin health diagnosis by boosting confidence in early detection, helping clinicians determine whether to reassure patients or refer them for further evaluation. Our ever growing educational content provides information on the key dermoscopic features seen in a variety of skin lesions and conditions.

Dermatoscopic-like devices

We provide healthcare professionals who are unsure about investing in a dermatoscope with the tools to build their own alternative, using materials at a fraction of the price.

Recycle and reuse

Through our Re-Home a Dermatoscope project you can donate your older, fully functioning models to support clinics in need worldwide. Help us give these surplus device a new life and improve patient care!

About Us.

Founded in June 2020 at Southmead Hospital, we are a non-profit organisation dedicated to making dermoscopy accessible worldwide. Our journey began with the launch of our "Loupe LED Dermatoscope," and since then we've developed other budget alternatives to dermoscopy, a growing educational resource, and gained over 25 team members internationally, including a strong presence in Egypt.
